AdCombo postback setup

What AdCombo sends back when a sale is approved, which field carries your click id, and how UTMCAP joins the two.

  1. 01

    Send the click id out with your offer link

    AdCombo carries it in clickid. Put the token on the offer URL and every conversion can be traced back to the click that paid for it.

    https://their-offer.com/?clickid={utmcap_id}
  2. 02

    Paste the postback into AdCombo

    UTMCAP builds this for you on your own tracking domain — the example below uses a placeholder. AdCombo fills in the braces when it calls it.

    https://track.example.com/postback?cid={clickid}&payout={revenue}&transaction_id={trans_id}&status={status}

What each field carries

FieldAdCombo calls itAnd fills it with
Click idcid{clickid}
Payoutpayout{revenue}
Their conversion idtransaction_id{trans_id}
Statusstatus{status}

Worth knowing: Append clickid={utmcap_id} to the offer URL. AdCombo states these macros on its own blog rather than in a docs section — {clickid}, {revenue}, {trans_id} and {status} — so confirm them in your account before the first campaign. They can fire on lead, hold and reject separately: turn all three on and the status tells them apart, rather than three postbacks that all look like sales.

Taken from what AdCombo publishes; the rest it keeps inside your account — source. We do not cite other trackers’ help pages, because a rival’s integration note says what their template does, which is not the same as what AdCombo sends.

Questions

About AdCombo and tracking.

How do I set up a AdCombo postback?
Paste the postback URL from your UTMCAP campaign into AdCombo, on your own tracking domain rather than the example one, and send the click id out in the clickid field on your offer link. The parameters are filled in for you; the table above shows what each one carries.
Does UTMCAP already know AdCombo?
Partly. AdCombo is in the catalogue, and the parts it publishes are filled in. The rest it keeps inside your own account — read them there once and save them as your template.
What happens if a conversion arrives days later?
It still finds its click. The postback carries the click id, so a sale approved a week after the click attaches to that click and is dated when it happened. A status change updates the same conversion rather than adding a second one.
Do conversions count against my plan?
Conversions and postbacks are never billable here — only the click the redirect answered. Free for 100,000 clicks a month, then $29 for a million.

Point a domain at us and run a click through it.

The free plan takes a hundred thousand clicks a month and no card. If it does not do what you need, you have lost twenty minutes.
